Who We Are

A local congregation

We are a worshipping body of Christians who live and serve in and around Manhattan, KS.

With local leadership

Our pastor, Jonathan Haney, is a husband of one, father of two, and follower of Jesus Christ. He graduated from the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA in 2011. Before entering pastoral ministry, Jonathan studied mathematics and philosophy, served four years in the US Army, and devoted a lot of time to coffee and rock n' roll.

One of our ruling elders, Will Mann, is a landscape architect for Schwab Eaton in Manhattan.

Another one of our ruling elders, Mike Stewart, is an engineer for the Kansas Department of Transportation, working in Topeka. Mike and his family are active in the Manhattan area homeschool support group, C.H.I.E.F. In his spare time, Mike enjoys the hobby of ham radio. The Stewart family has lived in Manhattan for around 10 years.

Our other ruling elder, Joel Wallace, is a client support manager for the Office of Educational Innovation and Evaluation at Kansas State University. Joel enjoys spending time with his wife, grilling and smoking meat, and working with his hands on projects around the house.

Part of the Global Church of Jesus Christ

As such we can enjoy fellowship with people in all places who accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and promise obedience to Him.

In particular, we are part of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America (RPCNA), a member denomination in the North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council (NAPARC).

Who Are You?

Are you someone who has asked the question to yourself, "Who am I?"

You most likely have pondered that very question at least once, if not numerous times throughout your life. You have probably also asked yourself the companion question, "Why am I here?"

These two questions seek to identify two critically important truths: identity and purpose. Identity and purpose are not the same thing, but they can be so closely related that you may try to determine your identity by your perceived purpose. In other words, you may think who you are is defined by what you do.

If your ultimate identity is based on your job, that is, if who you are is a construction worker, a police officer, or an engineer; what happens if you are laid off, or injured so that you cannot perform your job? Do you lose your identity? Or what if you have defined your identity in relation to your boyfriend, girlfriend, or spouse, and he or she breaks your heart or deserts you? Do you become a nobody? Or what if you have neither a profession nor significant personal relationships? Where is your identity then?

In only considering these simple examples, it is not hard to see why so many people go through life lost and hurting, desperately seeking direction and significance in life. Perhaps you are one of these people.
